Stephan Templ

Stephan Templ was born in 1960 in Vienna, Austria. He is ordinarily resident in Prague, Czech Republic and is an historian, author and journalist.

He studied architecture and is known primarily for his publications of the Modern architects and structures. He has curated many exhibitions in Switzerland, particularly in Zürich, Bern, St Gallen, Winterthur.

He is the author of “Baba: the Werkbundsiedlung Prague” and co-wrote “Unser Wien – Aryanization the Austrian Way” with Tina Walzer, published in 2001, on the history of the Aryanized properties of Austria. Excerpts from Unser Wien are reproduced with permission here.

Stephan Templ was convicted in 2013 of serious fraud against the Republic of Austria and was incarcerated in Simmering jail, Vienna from October 2015 until June 2016.

    Mon cas ressemble un peu à celui de Mr Templ!
    Pour avoir oublié de déclarer mon oncle (interné dans plusieurs camps et donc connu des autorités) avant une certaine date, il n’a pas reçu la “part de compensation” avant sa mort!
    La Heldenplatz résonne à nouveau des cris de victoire.
